As a key member of the technical/product team, the Sales Engineer uses technical knowledge along with interpersonal skills to understand customer's needs and propose flexible solutions. He / She will participate in all facets of the business cycle including; customer targeting/acquisition, quoting, forecasting, preparing technical documentation, presenting product features and benefits, solving technical and commercial issues etc.
Responsibilities includes but are not limited to:
- Define the technical solution and the associated economic budget, studying and analysing the requirements specified by the commercial area and attending to the company's needs, ensuring compliance with deadlines
- Reading, understanding and interpreting documents, technical specifications and single-line diagrams.
- Propose solutions to be offered according to the requirements, requests and budgets of the suppliers.
- Carry out cost and sales price studies.
- Carry out studies and simulations of installations.
- Draw up the documentation of proposals and offers and carry out the follow-up, ensuring compliance with the committed deadlines.
- Share internally with the responsible departments the needs detected from customers, as well as the evolution of the market, compiling and transferring key information.
- Place and manage orders in the management system, as well as to collaborate in making sure that the departments involved are aware of them.
- Provide technical support to the commercial team for the resolution of doubts and defence of the commercial proposal, transmitting the culture and values of Power Electronics, as well as complying with the commitments, policies and practices contained in the accepted business ethics
- Collaborate with the rest of the areas involved in the preparation and development of bids, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
- Collaborate in project handover meetings to the Project Management area.
Academic Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, ideally with focus on power electronics and renewable /solar. Experience instead of a degree will be accepted.
Experience Required
- 1 year minimum of working experience within a technical position, preferably in a PV company with regional/international focus; project management experience required.
- Knowledge of the local electricity market incl. grid norms, ideally with contacts to authorities and utility companies
Soft Skills/ Competencies
- Knowledge and skills in comercial negotiation
- Specific knowledge about the sector.
- Knowledge of electricity, electronics and automotion.
- Highly customer focused and success-oriented, flexible and able to work as part of a team.
