Primary functions and responsibilities
- Comply with the ORP Plan (Organization Risk Prevention Plan) corresponding to the assigned area, including responsibility for the Preventive Planning derived from the ORP plan.
- Implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
- Carry out any applicable work permits for external companies to help with their activities in analyzing and verification of documentation for determined requirements.
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
- Responsible for the safety topic during onboarding of new hires.
- Collaborate in the documentation of health and safety procedures in accordance with regulations, as well as the modifications and updates that take place.
- Lead and conduct safety audits of their assigned area (plant and field).
- Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
- Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Identify and select the PPE required for different roles within the organization.
- Collaborate in the execution of projects together with the rest of the internal department, ensuring correct development of the work performed.
- Communicate and inform the immediate manager about status and progress of projects and initiatives from team and individual KPIs, highlight main milestones, and assessing their suitability and impact.
- Carry out task assigned by immediate manager both associated with your area and linked to other departments to ensure the correct development of the work.
- Comply with the matrix of roles and responsibilities for safety and health in the workplace.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposed to warehouse and field conditions, cold/heat, and noise.
Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field preferred.
- Five (5) years of related experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and SAP. Mastery in Excel will be beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with other team members.
- Analytical in nature.
- Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends or evenings.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Accurate typing skills.
- Preferred candidate bilingual in Spanish & English, able to communicate and write in Spanish & English is beneficial.
Schedule:
- Typically, 8-hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Work Location: 50% onsite, 50% field.
