What You’ll Do
As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll operations while supporting cross-functional teams:
- Process employee salaries, wages, and compensation accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Maintain and reconcile employee payroll data, including tax withholdings, benefits, 401(k), and direct deposits
- Update employee records, including promotions, transfers, and terminations
- Prepare and submit payroll tax reports and other compliance-related documentation
- Administer employee benefits and payroll-related deductions
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries
- Generate and analyze bi-weekly reports for extra compensation in the Service Department
- Review and process internal tickets related to additional compensation
- Partner with the Service Department to reconcile discrepancies and ensure timely resolution
- Provide payroll data to support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll records for auditing purposes
- Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive employee information
- Support employment verifications, wage audits, unemployment, workers' compensation, and garnishment requests
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination
- Contribute to aligning payroll processes with organizational goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in payroll and accounting
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements
- Experience with SAP is required
- Advanced proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage confidential information with integrity
- Proficient level in English and Spanish
